About the Globe.

The Globe dates back to before 1832 - which is when a local blacksmith, John Griffith, took over the existing hostelry. It stayed in the Griffiths family for the next 133 years, owned by 2 of his daughters and then 2 of his granddaughters, before being sold to Buckley's Brewery, who had leased it from the ladies since 1887.

We are right in the centre of Burry Port, South Wales, nestled amongst the local restaurants, cafes and pubs.

All our rooms are light and airy, have an en-suite bathroom, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and our freshly cooked full breakfast sets you up for a day exploring the beautiful countryside around us.

We are conveniently placed within minutes of the main line train station from London and are on the local bus routes which will allow you to explore the area without needing to drive here. We are also right on the Wales Coastal Path and beautiful off road cycle paths, and within 5 minutes walk of the the harbour and beach.

A few minutes walk along the shoreline will bring you to the spectacular 8 mile long golden sand of Cefn Sidan beach and Pembrey Country Park, and in the other direction is the wheelchair and cycle friendly Millennium Coastal Pathway and wetlands.

Also nearby are the Pembrey BARC car racing circuit, the Fos Lass horse racing course and the Welsh national cycle track.
